It gave off the impression that it was mechanical, but the details are unknown.
Centered in the monstrous sphere were a number of mechanical parts that gave off a somewhat organic impression.

It was literally floating there.
Despite looking as though it were standing on the surface of the sea, it was clearly floating.
That something looked at the girls on the beach.
That something catches their eye and moves slowly.
The girl Calculated everything.
Thus, she immediately concluded that the monstrous sphere was a floating object.
Simultaneously---
There was the danger that came with it---
