Sekien no Inganock Website: Keywords 4

Info of this can be found on the official website here.

Mysterious Beings

Mystical Creatures (Fantasy Creatures)

Fairy tale-like creatures that aren't a Fantasy Race or a Critter.

They're also referred to as Fantasy Creatures.

The Engine Spirits who occasionally spawn from factories, as well as winged dwarfs and dogs as large as horses are seen all over the lower tiers.

Due to being the same as normal animals, they can be tamed or repelled.

Engine Spirit

A type of urban spirit that looks like a smaller version of a person wearing a protective suit. They're not hostile to humans, rather they are very friendly that would even help with work at Engine shops without a word.

They are rarely produced among the items manufactured at Engine Factories. The way in which they are born is twenty computing Engines were supposed to come out of a conveyor belt, but 19 computing Engines and a single Tim came out instead.

Although they have abilities similar from the products they originated from, they are generally not born from firearm factories.

They usually make sounds like "Psh" and "Pshpsh", but they can speak the human tongue if they try enough.

However, they won't talk unless they are tamed.

(Kikai)

Shadow-like beings clad in steel that appeared on the day of the Revival ten years ago. Their existence is only told to the people of Inganock as a "fairy tale". They are officially announced to not exist.

They are said to bring Beautiful Things to people, but the reason for such is unknown. Their existence is shrouded in mystery.

They also never die, for in the event their host perishes, they will connect to another host under the clown Grimm-Grimm's guidance.

  • Their total number is always 41.
  • Their eyes are distinctive.
  • The Early to Mid Stages includes things like "both eyes closed", "one eye opened", "only an eye", etc.
  • A Kikai with "both eyes opened" is the Final Stage.
  • A cord is connected to their host.
  • At the Final Stage, a "mouth" is formed where wailing is released.
  • They like soothing songs.

Critter (Creature)

41 large, ferocious monsters that appeared in the city of Inganock.

They exist for the purpose of hurting humans.

People have come to treat them as "calamities" rather than as animals or living beings due to the fact that they're unable to defeat them.

It's said that these "Critters", who resemble the fantasy creatures of fairy tales, are ordained by someone to always harm humans.

The difference from normal Fantasy Creatures is a spring screw that is embedded somewhere on their body, something that is surely embedded in the Critter's body.

  • Large Size (Their body length is anywhere from 3 to 20 meters)
  • Nullification of Physical Attacks (Physical destructive power of anything other than their specific weaknesses will not apply)
  • Voice of Panic (Other than Critters, it stiffens the minds of humans, fantasy races, and fantasy creatures)
  • Reformation
  • A spring screw is always somewhere on their body

Wendigo

A creature from a legend of one that lives in snowy mountains.

They are a terrifying ape-like being whose whole body is covered in white fur and is bipedal.

The claws on its hands are long and hard, which can be used as claw-like weapons to deliver deadly pathogens to their targets.

The Wendigo has 24 teeth in its skull, of which all are uneven.

They are nocturnal and have a habit of preying on humans and other fantasy races, and is said to absorb the minds of its targets as nourishment. However, it doesn't attack on its own and prefers to use its hypnotic abilities to obtain its victims and use them as its underlings.

Golem

A bronze automaton that appeared in a legend from Seikyo.

It has the appearance of a giant, and is often said to appear around water sources and reservoirs.

There are multiple Golems that number 33 in total, but though all of them are the same, there is subtle differences in them. There is a spring screw on its back.

Bandersnatch

A ferocious predator that appeared in a story from Seikyo.

It's said to be a terrifying creature comparable to the Dragon, and it caused tremendous damage in various parts of the city during the Revival ten years ago.

Bandersnatch has eight rectangular teeth in its skull, three long fingers, and has sharp claws that aren't as long. It has a long neck, a long and slender body, a tail, and even a pair of wings yet its not as brazen as the Dragon. Their image is that of a caricature of a Dragon.

Unlike how it was when it went on a rampage ten years ago, it has now ceased its widespread actions and instead currently works to plunge humans into despair one by one.

Youki (Blood Tree)

A Critter that resembles a blood-sucking plant said to have lived on an island in the Southern Sea. What is often seen in the lower tiers of the city are undiluted black and red vines (not the main body itself). They are eerie, yet give off a certain kind of fantastical beauty.

It can produce duplicates of itself through self-reproduction, division, and seeding. The seeds it scattered in the city when it appeared ten years ago float around as particles laying in wait in the lower tiers, possessing children whose vitality are weak, and grows while absorbing the hosts nutrients and stealing each part of their body, eventually bursting out and spreading more seeds at the end of their life. In most cases, however, the City Law (i.e Death) is enforced by the Upper Tier Soldiers destroying the Youki alongside the host.

It is the most famous among the lower tiers, being the one noted for dealing the most damage. It does nothing more than growing until their host perishes, but trying to remove them will leave one to be attacked by the vines.

(Kikai Possession)

Among the only fairy tale whispered in the city is the term Kikai Possession.

People have said it to be a continuation of the Kikai Fairy Tale, a sequel to a sad and scary dream. It's a sad story about a Kikai User who went mad due to not wanting something beautiful or didn't desire for it. It is the story of a Kikai User who went crazy due to relying too much on their Kikai, or ignoring the Kikai standing behind them.

All of it is very vague, and there are no specific episodes mentioned. It's just told as it is.

No one can describe the details.
