Sekien no Inganock Website: Keywords 3

Info of this can be found on the official website here.

People of Inganock

Alien Fantasy Race

People who were once Humans but were mutated as a result of the Revival.

Most of Inganock's residents have developed these mutations to greater or lesser degrees. In a narrow sense, it can refer to all of "Inganock's residents", but in general, it refers to people whose appearance "has changed from something else due to drastic mutations".

They've also been referred to as aliens, but this is a term used to address them by the upper tier (the wealthy, ruling, intellectual class of Inganock) that often had discriminating overtones. People in the lower tiers rarely call each other that, instead referring to them by the race names such as Pucelle, Shelob, and Michefushi.

Shelob

Insect people. Their size may either be shorter or taller than a normal Human, and are bipedel.

There are a variety of this species, ranging from beetle-like types to ones that resemble ants and wasps as well as ones that look like caterpillars. Some are nearly humanoid, others are not so humanoid in the slightest.

They are oviparous and so cannot breed with humans (clear examples of this aren't discovered).

However, it appears that some species of Shelob can breed with others.

Pucelles

A humanoid being that resembles a cat or a tiger. Their physique and limb strength is almost the same as a humans.

Most Pucelles have facial expressions that resembles a human, but rarely there will be those who resembles a tiger. Breeding with humans is possible.

Their race have excellent physical ability and are swift.

On rare occasions, there will be a Golden Eye that will manifest in either their right or left eye. It's theorized that this eye is that of a Kikai and is shunned by the upper tiers and not only so in the lower tiers, it's also feared. It has been sarcastically spoken of as a "good luck charm" for those who spend their lives in sketchy areas.

Martism

A humanoid being that resembles a dog or wolf. They are roughly the same size as a human, but the adults, especially males are often taller. They are agile and have excellent physical strength though not as strong as that of a Pucelle.

Just like a Pucelle, there is the matter of individual differences in whether one is more humanoid, dog-like, or wolf-like.

Breeding with humans is possible.

Characters vary between humans. However, it's said that they can become more of a loyal watchdog than a human if trained from a young age.

Paldes

Beings who resembled birds. They appear as a mix between a human and a variety of a bird, from small bird-types like swallows to more courageous types like hawks, eagles, and owls.

Their physique can also vary from being very tall or very smaller than a human.

They are not necessarily humanoid, but often times, they have the appearance of a "large bird".

Michefushi

Lizard humans. As children, they are about the same size as a human. But as adults, they are usually taller. Their face and skin (scales) are of a lizard, but their appearance can barely be called as humanoid.

There are various types of lizards that can serve as their motif.

Despite resembling a lizard, they seem to have amphibian-like traits and live in waterside areas such as old reservoir sites and water park ruins.

Ogre

Bear humans. As children, their physique is slightly larger. As adults, they're much larger than humans. It's said that most have a gentle personality, but the only known tales about Ogres in the Inganock Tabloids is them going berserk for some reason and going on a rampage.

Taurus

Beings who resemble a horse. In many cases, the upper body of a human is above where the neck part of the horse is located. Although many of their parts are of a horse, they did not mutate from a horse but were a human that were mutated into a Fantasy Race like the other races.

For starters, they have an excellent mind good for calculations and their physical strength is several times that of a human.

It's said that long hours of mental labor is possible.

It's rumored that Doctor Centaur Chiron, the greatest Cracking Effect User and a wiseman respected by many alongside the Elder Iru was also a Taurus.

They generally have a gentle personality, but caution must be made about their "hind legs" when they get upset.

Children born after the (Revival)

Even if one's parents were spared from mutations, many children of Inganock ended up with some internal or external mutations during the growth process.

Approximately 10% of them are said to have completely mutated into an Alien Fantasy Race during birth.

Lower tier people

Many of the Lower tiers people wear full-face masks.

They were originally used for protection against Steam Disease, but over the past 10 years, such superstition was made that it could protect against the Taboo Illness spread throughout the Lower tiers, so now many of the lower tiers wear them.

However, it has no actual effect.

Equation Doctor (Cracking Doc)

Gii's occupation. A Doctor who heals using the Cracking Effect.

They are deemed far more "necessary" than regular Doctors in Inganock where many people have their bodies mutated due to the Revival. However, this is in the sense where the weak can live.

Rough Houser (Runner)

People who have Cracking Engines embedded in them that mainly operate in the lower tiers, especially in the city skyscrapers.

Their physical capabilities are greatly enhanced, and they are said to sabotage the activities of other companies, stealing their research, assault them, and kidnap them at the request of anonymous companies.

In Inganock were firearms are prohibited, their presence can be said to be their greatest "weapon".

Upper Tier Soldier

Modified humans who wear medieval armor and had over 90% of their whole body converted with a number of Crack Engines. They are combat Engine Humans who exist to protect the upper tiers facilities and its people. The Formula Crest engraved on their armor increases the steel's durability, said to be able to repel even bullets. Their fighting power using a great sword is said to be comparable to several large Fantasy Creatures.

They were originally people who lived in the upper tiers but volunteered to undergo Enginization. By pledging loyalty to the Upper Tier Nobles and turning themselves into steel humans, they automatically gain the same rights as a first class citizen.

Furthemore, their faces aren't seen by anyone else due to be covered in a steel mask.

Upper Tier Noble

A few of the privileged that reside in the city's upper tiers.

They are "perfect humans" who have not undergone any sort of mutation. They are the first to be spoken of when referring to "perfect humans" in Inganock.

Hacker

A type of Runner that specializes in information. They are those who, through difficult and advanced brain surgery, gained the ability to connect to and interfere with the Engine Energy Information Network which runs through the city, and remotely contact the Information Archive Building. All of these so-called Hackers are special 2nd-class wanted criminals.

Legendary Hacker "Keith" or "K"

There was once a Legendary Hacker. His name was said to have been "Keith", or "K".

He was partners with M, a female veteran Runner known as the Chrome Blade, and through his genius skills, he could pry open all of the Information Archive and came very close to seizing much of the financial and confidential information in the City Skyscraper. There is a theory that he was even a Cracking Effect User, and that he used it to apply his hacking skills.

Some have whispered that he could have come the new city king in place of the Archduke, but that didn't happen.

One day, he snuck into the information archive of an upper tier noble, and while gracefully avoiding interference from a burner tool, he came into contact with information on the Archduke.

...The next day, he, known as Keith or K, was found burnt into charcoal in front of his home by an illegal resident on the street. His partner, M, had vanished.

This had become a hot topic among the Runners. A first-class Hacker with outstanding skill died after making contact with the Archduke's secret. It was truly a sensitive topic.

However, it cannot be just said that this has pierced through the lower tiers of the city.

This Legendary Hacker challenged the Upper Tiers system and the King the Archduke, and was defeated. That is the only fact that remains.

(Kikai) User

There is a rumor that is indistinguishable from a fairy tale or rumor, one where people have obtained a Kikai and who use them. It's a name that has spread thin and wide throughout the lower tiers.

Many of the people said to be Kikai Users are referred to the few heroic characters in the lower tiers. They're said to be a Runner with legendary skills or was once part of a Critter Subjection (Subjection of Critter Soundblast). The most common story is the Alley Knight (Street Knight) was a Kikai User.

Matter of fact, there has been no official confirmation of a Kikai User. The rumors of the people are also elusive, appearing and vanishing like they were fleeting rumors.

Alley Knight (Street Knight)

A Hero whose activities were only rumored to have been around for a short while. It was said that he used his blade to fight back against the terror in the lower tiers where countless lives were lost to Fantasy Creatures and Critters.

The Street Knight was hailed as the strongest and fastest in the city. He was said to have been an Engine Human embedded with a number of Crack Engines in his body, but his true identity has not been recorded. It was said that he was given this honor by becoming a member of the Upper Tier Nobility, becoming a Highness Agent, and in becoming a member of the Royal Guard that protects the Archduke. But everything else remains a mystery.

Nowadays, some have argued their existence is nothing but a rumor.
